Most brands build dozens of models on a handful of lasts. Map the last once and every shoe made on it is covered — this season and the next. Fit knowledge attaches to the last, not to the SKU.
Because the comparison is made against the last, a brand can see how a new model will fit a real population of feet before the first sample is cut — not after the first return.
A safety shoe is a different object. The toe cap sets a hard inner limit, the last is built for a sock and a swelling foot, and EN ISO 20345 shapes the fit as much as the size does. VSIZE treats these as fit parameters in their own right.

We reconstruct a 3D model of the foot from three smartphone photos. No special hardware, no appointment.
Foot length, width, ball girth, instep height, heel breadth, and twenty more — anchored to a clinically validated measurement standard developed by a European biomechanics institute.
The shoe interior — the last — is compared to the foot zone by zone. Each zone gets its own score, with closure-aware tolerance and direction (tight or loose).
Every fit prediction is checked against real customer feedback over time. The model learns which combinations work for which feet — and gets smarter with use.
VSIZE was founded on a simple frustration: nothing online actually fits. Not shoes. Not clothes. The industry's tools are wrong, the customer is blamed, and the returns pile up.
We believed the answer was not a better size chart but a different question — what does the foot look like, and what was the shoe built on? So we built a system that measures both and compares them.
VSIZE is developed by Novainvent AB in Halmstad, Sweden. The foot measurement is built on the scanning technology and anatomical standard of the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia, one of Europe's leading research institutes in footwear biomechanics. The last geometry and grading model were developed together with Chalmers Industriteknik in Gothenburg, with support from Sweden's innovation agency Vinnova. The first production pilot runs with a Swedish footwear retailer.
